Otter.ai in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Frontend Software Engineer to lead feature development and act as a technical expert, collaborating with stakeholders to improve performance, infrastructure, and user experience of our platform. You will own ongoing development of our web app, evolve it into a responsive SPA, write clean, reusable code, and drive testing, security, and cross‑browser quality.

Hybrid role with office options in Mountain View or San Francisco and opportunities for growth

Qualifications

• Experience building single-page web applications with JavaScript frameworks.
• Strong proficiency in writing clean, reusable HTML/CSS and TypeScript.
• Experience writing unit and UI tests; strong debugging skills.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
• Familiar with Linux; AWS preferred.
• Knowledge of REST API principles.

Job description

• We are looking for a Frontend Software Engineer to lead feature development and serve as a technical expert, collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the organization. In this role, you will drive the performance, infrastructure improvement, and overall user experience of our platform
• Take charge of the ongoing development and enhancement of our web application, driving its evolution to meet business goals
• Architect and refine our current web application, transforming it into a responsive, single-page application (SPA) with a focus on performance and user experience
• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code that adheres to industry best practices and our internal coding standards
• Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve bugs to improve overall app quality and stability
• Conduct rigorous testing to ensure the application meets security standards and performs efficiently across various platforms and devices
• Ensure seamless functionality and a consistent user experience across multiple browsers, platforms, and devices through thorough validation and testing
• Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance development processes and product offerings
• Actively participate in setting coding standards and lead code review sessions to maintain high-quality code and foster knowledge sharing within the team
