Job description

Pointer Technologies is looking for a Front End Software Engineer to join our team in Annapolis Junction, Maryland.

A front end software engineer will be expected to design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance web applications and user-facing web applications in accordance with documented requirements. The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background, a solid understanding of software engineering concepts, and a desire to grow as a technical professional.

This person is diligent, works well with others, inspired to learn, driven by mission and practices effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance web applications based on documented requirements.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Utilize appropriate software development and design methodologies for the development environment.
• Provide specific input to the system design of software components, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the use of open-source, commercial off-the-shelf, or government off-the-shelf software.
• Perform requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Qualifications

• Experience using the Linux command-line interface.
• Experience developing Bash scripts to automate manual processes.
• Recent software development experience using front‑end technologies such as Vue.js, React.js, Angular, Node, npm, and related toolkits.
• Experience with CI/CD principles, methodologies, and tools such as GitLab CI.
• Experience with Git source control system.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Nice to Have

• Experience with containerization principles and tools such as Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
• Technical leadership experience.
