Job summary

Silver King Beverage Company is seeking a Front-End Production Manager to lead our front-end can-making operations in Salt Lake City. You will direct technicians and operators, drive safety, quality, and efficiency, and collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor front-end production staff, fostering safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide training to enhance skill development.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of front-end equipment (cupping, body-making, trimming).
• Monitor production metrics and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and minimize waste.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and collaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Work with QA to implement corrective actions for defects.
• Enforce safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental compliance.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment lifespan.
• Assist in planning and executing equipment upgrades and installations.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to improve machine performance.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to drive operational excellence.
• Prepare and present reports on production performance, downtime, and efficiency improvements.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to align production objectives with company goals.

SUMMARY

The Front-End Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the front-end operations of the can-making manufacturing process, ensuring production efficiency, quality, and safety. This role involves leading a team, optimizing processes, and maintaining equipment to meet production targets while adhering to company policies and industry regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered. The ideal candidate will have over five years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in can making or metal packaging, along with prior supervisory or managerial experience.

Skills/Knowledge

Strong technical expertise in can-making equipment, including cuppers, body makers, and trimmers, as well as familiarity with PLC-controlled machinery and automated production systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities are key, along with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical skills and a focus on continuous improvement are also critical for success in this role.
