Crown Holdings, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment on a high-speed metal packaging line in Nichols, NY. The role requires hands-on work with production machinery and a focus on safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in manufacturing, applies preventative maintenance, and can read blueprints/electrical schematics. Night shifts and a rotating schedule are part of the role, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years working experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing preferred).
  • Associates/technical degree or related vocational/technical certification preferred.
  • Strong proven experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment rebuilds.
  • Experience reading mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics; reading parts specifications.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, adjust and maintain equipment involved with running production at a high-speed facility.
  • Operate equipment including spray systems, neckers and flangers and other production machinery.
  • Develop standard operating procedures; provide training for equipment operation and reinforce safety procedures.

Salary

We offer competitive pay starting at $31.16 to $36.07 *Actual salary will be determined based on skill and experience level*

Hours

Night shift position on a 2/2/3 scheduled of two days on then two days off then three days on. Then days on and off rotate the following week. This is a 12 hour shift.

Job Summary

This position will trouble-shoot, repair, adjust and maintain all related equipment involved with running production at this high-speed state-of-the-art metal packaging manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities
  • This job would include operation of equipment as well as identifying areas of spoilage and taking appropriate corrective action to resolve the issues.
  • Equipment would include spray equipment, neckers and flangers as well as other production machinery.
  • This position will also develop standard operating procedures; provide training for equipment operation and reinforce all safety procedures.
Job Requirements

Requirements for these positions include but are not limited to the following:

  • 5+ years working experience in a manufacturing setting (high-speed manufacturing is preferred).
  • An Associates/technical degree is preferred or a related vocational/technical certification (journeyman card, technical license, etc.).
  • Strong proven working experience in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting skills and equipment re-build expertise are required for these roles.
  • Experience in using controls and settings on high-speed automated equipment.
  • High competency in the use of micrometers, calipers and related equipment.
  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • This position also requires the individual to be able to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and parts specifications.
  • Effective and proven communication skills working in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts, both day and evening.
