Position Overview:

The Front End Maintainers work 12-hour shifts for four nights and off for four nights. They initiate the can making process and are responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining the cupping press, body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, upend, and load coils onto the unwinder; feed coils through lubricator into press.
  • Set up, maintain, and operate the upender, unwinder, lubricator, and cupping press.
  • Set up, maintain, and operate the body makers, trimmers, and conveying systems.
  • Inspect and monitor, then record can specifications such as flange wall thickness and mid-wall thickness into the computer system.
  • Perform visual checks and cup weights to ensure process compliance and take corrective actions.
  • Assist in other areas as needed to maintain smooth can flow through the plant.
  • Complete paperwork and documentation such as coil logs and check sheets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and machines; follow safety procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components.
  • Ability to use precision measurement devices (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators).
  • Experience disassembling and reassembling equipment (preferred).
