Job summary

Food Lion in New Bern, NC is seeking a Front End Associate to provide fast, friendly service and greet customers while upholding our service standards. You will assist the Customer Service Manager, operate the cash register and front end equipment, and help maintain a neat, secure checkout area.

Responsibilities include handling cash variances, completing CBT training, following uniform guidelines, and performing other duties as assigned to ensure a top-notch shopping experience for guests.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers to create a positive shopping experience.
• Greet each customer and use his or her name whenever possible.
• Maintain knowledge of office procedures including cash reports, register checkups, deposits, Western Union, money orders and Coinstar.
• Ensure work station and front end area of the store has a neat and clean presentation.
• Report any register malfunction and ensure MVP savings center KIOSK is functional.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
