Job summary

Texas Precision Plating (DBA DFW Anodize and Metal Finishing, LLC) seeks an Estimating and Quality Planning Associate Engineer to lead front-end quotes, assist production planning, and guide technical decisions for defense, commercial, and aerospace components.

The role requires an engineering background to calculate areas, costs, and process routings and to drive AS9100 and NADCAP initiatives while coordinating with customers and suppliers to maintain schedule and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline or technical school diploma.
• 3+ years of direct engineering or estimating experience within metal finishing, electroplating, or aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of surface finishing processes (e.g., Anodizing, Chemical Film, Passivation) and safety protocols.
• Hands-on ERP experience and ability to build traveler routings in ERP systems.
• Excellent mathematical aptitude for complex surface area modeling and GD&T interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate RFQs, blueprints, and specifications to determine finishing requirements, feasibility, sequencing and quality needs.
• Calculate part surface areas, rack densities, and current density to estimate labor, materials and processing costs.
• Generate and deliver customer quotes using ERP, ensuring alignment with shop capacity and pricing guidelines.
• Interface with customers and vendors for technical clarifications on masking tolerances, pre/post-treatments, and lead times.
• Analyze historical data to refine pricing models and improve overall margin.
