Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Mid-Level Front-End Software Engineer to help build mission-critical, modern web applications for an Intelligence Community customer in a responsive, cloud-enabled environment.

You’ll collaborate with backend engineers and product owners in an Agile setting, translating complex mission requirements into intuitive interfaces while contributing to performance, accessibility, and scalable UI components.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Experience developing applications using a modern front-end framework such as React or Angular.
• Experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs and backend services.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining production web applications.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git.
• Experience working in Linux-based environments.
• Ability to translate technical and user requirements into functional software solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain responsive web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or similar technologies.
• Integrate front‑end applications with REST APIs, backend services, and data sources.
• Develop reusable, maintainable, and scalable front‑end components following modern software engineering practices.
• Translate requirements and user workflows into intuitive, functional interfaces for complex mission applications.
• Troubleshoot and improve application performance, responsiveness, reliability, and scalability.
• Perform front‑end testing, debugging, code reviews, and defect resolution throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated builds, and application deployment processes.
• Work closely with backend engineers, product owners, testers, and mission users to deliver integrated software capabilities.
• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
