Job summary

Captivation Software is seeking a dedicated Front-End Developer with Section 508 accessibility expertise to design, develop, and maintain accessible user interfaces for federal standards. You will work with a cross-functional Agile team to deliver compliant, high-quality interfaces that support national security missions.

The role emphasizes testing with JAWS, ARIA best practices, and integration of accessibility tools into CI/CD, helping ensure usable digital solutions for all users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree can substitute for experience.
• Proven front-end development with modern JavaScript and Vue.js.
• Deep knowledge of Section 508, WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA, semantic HTML.
• Experience testing with JAWS and other assistive technologies.
• Familiar with accessibility tools and CI/CD integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain accessible front-end components meeting 508 and WCAG AA.
• Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing and remediation.
• Collaborate with UX/UI, developers, and product owners in Agile sprints.
• Integrate accessibility testing into CI/CD pipelines using axe-core, Pa11y, Lighthouse.
• Advocate accessibility early in the development process and document findings.
