Job summary

ShopRite of East Orange is seeking a Customer Service/Courtesy Counter Clerk to deliver an excellent customer experience at the Village NJ location. The role requires strong English communication, basic math, and the ability to stand for long periods. Flexibility with schedules and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Basic math skills for transactions and pricing.
• Ability to stand/walk for full shifts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Friendly and helpful interaction with customers.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with prompt, courteous service.
• Process transactions, handle payments, and provide correct change.
• Handle returns according to store policy and issue refunds as needed.
• Inform customers about products and store promotions.
• Operate cash register and follow cash handling procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety at the front-end work area.
