ShopRite of Neptune in Neptune, NJ, is hiring a Customer Service/Courtesy Counter Clerk to deliver friendly, accurate service at the register and desk. You will assist customers, scan and bag goods, handle payments, process returns, and respond to inquiries with professionalism in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes safety, presentation, and efficiency, with a focus on customer care and teamwork. Candidates must be at least 18, able to lift up to 50 lbs., and stand for long shifts,

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, speak English
• Able to perform basic math
• Able to stand/walk for long shifts
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. regularly
• Friendly, helpful interaction with customers
• Able to work cooperatively with others

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service
• Enter customer information into database for eligibility of Wakefern programs
• Understand operation of cash register and follow cash handling procedures
• Knowledgeable about products carried in the store
• Stock and return items to proper locations, especially refrigerated/perishable items
• Handle damaged merchandise per company procedures
• Perform price checks as needed
• Issue rain checks and manage refunds/Price Plus cards
• Operate and maintain department equipment as required
• Be familiar with processing equipment and correct imaging merchandise
• Know item locations and promote current charitable promotions
• Stand at workstation for long shifts
• Adhere to shrink guidelines for Courtesy Desk
• Lift/move merchandise up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
• Adhere to QA and sanitation standards
• Complete training and ShopRite Service Priorities
• Maintain punctuality and attendance
• Work overtime as needed
• Collaborate with team
• Be 18+ to operate equipment
