Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to perform the technical requirements of cashier and service center.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Smile and provide prompt, accurate and friendly service while engaging customers.
• Greet each customer and use their name whenever possible.
• Unload groceries from cart to belt and group items for bagging.
• Scan orders and handle the payment transaction per standard practice.
• Follow bagging procedures and use bags by type.
• Assist with Food Lion To-Go orders when applicable.
• Maintain clean and neat front end area and work station.
• Notify management of any register issues or maintenance needs.
• Perform cashier duties when scheduled or as needed.
• Contribute to cost reductions and labor productivity.
