Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently at the check lane.
• Understand the POS system and handle tenders (cash, checks, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, loyalty offers, coupons).
• Adhere to cash handling guidelines and loss-prevention policies.
• Follow rules on restricted sale items (alcohol, tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies to the Scan Coordinator.
• Follow policies for stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Inspect equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Create a welcoming environment and answer product questions.
