Job summary

Ericsson in Austin, Texas is seeking a Front End CAD Engineer to support ASIC/SoC design efforts on-site or in a hybrid work model.

You will collaborate with project teams to refine verification requirements, improve EDA workflows, and apply industry best practices to craft efficient System on Chips.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in ASIC IP/SoC design, RTL, Verilog & SystemVerilog.
• Proficiency with front‑end tools including Verilog simulators, debugging tools & coverage.
• Background in synthesis, STA, and logic equivalence checking.
• Familiarity with UVM, CRV, and formal verification.

Front End CAD Engineer, Austin, Texas

On‑Site, Hybrid work schedule. This is not a remote work opportunity.

What You’ll Do

• Internal support to project teams for infrastructure, flow development and EDA tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define verification requirements and ensure alignment with overall project goals.
• As a key member within the Frontend CAD department, shape and optimize methodologies and EDA workflows, ensuring seamless adoption of industry best practices for crafting efficient System on Chips (SoCs).

What You’ll Bring

• Several years of in‑industry, hands‑on experience in ASIC IP/ASIC SoC design, RTL, Verilog and System Verilog, with proficiency in front‑end tools including Verilog simulators, debug tools, and coverage.
• Familiarity with synthesis, static timing analysis, and logic equivalence checking.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl and Python (required).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of verification methodologies, such as UVM, Constrained Random Verification, and formal verification.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Financial Security

The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits.

Time Off

New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Paid time off is pro‑rated based on the employee’s start date. Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
