Job summary

Albertsons Companies Inc. (Safeway) is seeking a Front-End Team Member to support a smooth checkout experience. You will scan items, bag groceries, handle transactions, and keep the front end organized while assisting customers with questions in a fast-paced environment.

You'll rotate between tasks, maintain accuracy, and contribute to a friendly shopping experience. The role offers flexible scheduling and weekly pay with benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Must be 16+ (or 18+ depending on state)
• Completion of cashier/front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Handle transactions at checkout, including cash, card, and digital payments
• Scan items, bag groceries, and maintain accurate pricing and produce codes
• Keep front-end area clean, organized, and stocked throughout shifts
• Assist with cart retrieval, stocking, and general front-end upkeep
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow in a fast-paced environment
• Follow store policies, register procedures, and checkout processes
• Provide friendly, helpful customer service and answers to questions
