Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Full-time Front Dock Supervisor in San Antonio, TX. The role oversees day-to-day operations, ensuring orders are properly selected, verified and loaded onto delivery trucks within time constraints.

You will lead the customer service/front dock team, train staff, and support the sales department with order entry and inquiries. Experience in an office or supervisory setting with strong English communication is required; Spanish preferred.

  • Lead and supervise front dock staff; schedule and coach team to meet daily goals.
  • Manage customer service tasks; assist with order entry and delivery status inquiries.
  • Provide support to sales in misc. functions and training for Front Dock staff.
  • Ensure orders are correctly selected, verified and loaded onto delivery trucks on time.

General Description:

This position is part of the sales and customer service department and is responsible for working with all wholesale front dock customers and oversee the day-to-day operations. The incumbent will and will ensure that all orders are properly selected, verified and loaded onto the delivery trucks within the specified time requirements. This position works within the sales department facilitating customer orders, addressing customer inquiries such as delivery status, product availability and general price information as well as providing support and training to the Front Dock Sales staff.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership

Train, schedule, and supervise customer service/front dock staff. Team Lead coordinates daily tasks, and guides the staff to meet company goals. Core duties include assigning work, coaching staff, and be the positive support that is vital for success.

Customer Service

Resolve client complaints and build relationships with local customers. Perform customer order collection and entry using company software (Produce Pro), if necessary

Provides assistance to the sales dept. on misc. sales functions and other related tasks, as requested by management.

High emotional intelligence to support team members.

Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit for up to 6-9 hours daily to perform job duties
  • Must be able to stoop, squat, bend and/or twist to perform various job functions
  • Must be able to stand intermittently and occasionally climb up and down one flight of stairs as needed.
  • Must be able to reach overhead, forward, back and down to perform various job functions
  • Must be able to have corrected vision to
  • Must be able to read computer monitors, invoices, posted notifications, etc. in order to perform various job functions, as necessary.
Environmental conditions:
  1. Must be able to work around noise and/or vibration generated by the truck and other equipment
  2. Must be able to work around fumes, dust, gases and odors.
  • Must be able to work in cold warehouse environments (33°- 56°F) as required by the job
  • Must be alert and able to identify a hazard, should one occur, by reporting immediately or, if directed, by taking corrective measures
Work Experience Requirements:
  • Prior experience in an office environment and supervisory role, prior customer experience preferred
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently handle multiple tasks in a busy office environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills in English required, Spanish preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Working knowledge of keyboarding and basic computer applications to train on company software, Produce Pro
  • Must be able to work weekends (Saturdays) and holidays
Education and Skills Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required,
  • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
  • Strong interpersonal skills (outgoing, positive attitude, enthusiastic)
  • 2 yrs in retail, wholesale environments.
