ASCEND staff are positioned to provide ASCEND customers and members with the best indoor climbing experience possible.

Job Overview

ASCEND staff are responsible for delivering excellent customer service to members and guests, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a positive environment. While on shift, staff should engage with customers and team members, exuding positivity and adhering to ASCEND’s moral guidelines and brand standards.

Climbing experience is preferred but not required. We believe skills can be learned; a positive and attentive attitude is essential.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Manage waivers, memberships, check-ins, rentals, and retail sales
  • Maintain retail area by restocking and selling merchandise and gear
  • Handle cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Assist customers with excellent service
  • Ensure rental gear is returned, cleaned, and organized
  • Conduct safety and orientation walkthroughs, including test-falls, belay tests, and auto belay lessons
  • Monitor customer safety and enjoyment
  • Perform cleaning and facility maintenance tasks each shift
  • Learn and communicate information about ASCEND’s programs
Qualities and Experience
  • Customer service experience, preferably in a climbing gym, outdoor recreation, or related field
  • Availability for at least 2 shifts per week, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to purposely fall from 3-4 feet, stand for extended periods, and lift/carry 20-50 lbs
  • Positive attitude and demeanor
  • Interest in climbing, fitness, yoga, and community

Evening shifts are from 4 PM to 12 AM on weekdays, and 2 PM to 9 PM on weekends.
