Position: Front Desk Sales Associate
Overview
The Front Desk Associate will greet and direct members, guests, and staff as they enter the gym, providing control of the front door area. This position offers assistance to members' requests, inquiries about gym operations and policies, and performs various administrative duties as directed by the Gym General Manager or Operations Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Enthusiastically greet each member and guest promptly, using the proper greeting for the time of day to create a friendly, positive entrance and departure experience.
- Provide security and control at the front door and retail area of the facility.
- Check each member into the gym using proper check-in procedures.
- Monitor check-ins to identify delinquent accounts and notify the Gym Operations Supervisor.
- Register all guests into the gym following proper registration procedures.
- Ensure guests and appointments are directed to the appropriate fitness consultant promptly and professionally.
- Answer phones by the third ring using proper greeting techniques, address caller requests, and take messages noting caller’s name.
- Register telephone inquiries in the script pad and Master Production Binder, and transfer calls to appropriate Fitness Consultants.
- Follow up on telephone inquiries to ensure appointments are booked properly.
- Respond immediately to member requests, inquiries, and concerns.
- Maintain a neat appearance and wear proper uniform attire with a nametag while on duty.
- Distribute keys, towels, and other materials as needed.
- Process retail and concession sales.
- Attend all staff meetings as directed.
- Conduct gym walk-throughs as designated in the walk-through log.
- Follow proper opening and closing procedures as instructed in the FDA training manual.
- Log all maintenance concerns reported.
- Report safety concerns and notify management of incidents requiring incident reports.
- Work as scheduled and adhere to company attendance policies.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Gym General Manager or Operations Supervisor, including light cleaning and equipment organization.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Effective communication skills with staff and members, both verbal and written.
- Understanding of basic accounting and cash processing procedures.
- Functional computer skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
