Front Desk/ Retail Associate

Job Overview:

We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Part-Time Front Desk / Retail Associate to join our team at Jellystone Lake Monroe. This position offers the opportunity to transition into a full-time role based on performance and campground needs. As a Front Desk / Retail Associate, you will be the first point of contact for guests, providing excellent customer service while assisting with reservations, check-ins, retail sales, and ensuring an overall positive experience for campers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Greet guests warmly and professionally, assisting with check-ins, check-outs, and providing information about the campground, facilities, and local attractions.
  • Reservations & Bookings: Manage reservations using the campground’s reservation system. Answer phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries regarding availability, rates, and policies.
  • Retail Sales: Operate the campground’s retail store, assisting customers with purchases, including snacks, beverages, camping gear, souvenirs, and other retail items. Keep the retail area organized and well-stocked.
  • Cash Handling: Process transactions, including cash, credit, and debit card payments. Maintain an accurate cash register and handle financial transactions with attention to detail.
  • Guest Services: Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally. Provide assistance with campground amenities such as maps, equipment rentals, and event information.
  • Check-In & Check-Out Procedures: Complete check-in and check-out processes for guests, ensuring accurate guest information, room assignments, and reservations.
  • Facility Knowledge: Be knowledgeable about campground facilities, amenities, and activities to help guests plan their stay and ensure a smooth visit.
  • Communication: Coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping, and management teams to ensure that any guest needs or issues are addressed promptly.
  • Promotions & Upselling: Promote campground services, events, and retail products to guests. Upsell additional services such as rental equipment or activity packages when appropriate.
  • Cleanliness & Organization: Keep the front desk and retail areas clean, organized, and stocked. Assist with light housekeeping and other general duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Prior experience in customer service, retail, or hospitality is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working with a variety of computer systems and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Customer Service: A friendly, positive attitude with a strong commitment to providing exceptional service to guests.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy in handling reservations, payments, and inventory management.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Willingness to transition into a full-time role with more responsibilities and growth opportunities.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with other staff to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and assist with stocking retail shelves.

Preferred Qualifications (Optional):

  • Experience with campground or resort operations.
  • Familiarity with reservation systems or retail POS systems.
  • Knowledge of local attractions, parks, and outdoor activities.

Additional Information:

  • Hours: Part-time hours, typically 20 hours per week. Hours may vary seasonally, with the possibility of additional hours based on campground needs. Full-time hours may be available as the position grows.
  • Potential for Full-Time: This part-time position offers the opportunity to transition to a full-time role with increased responsibilities and benefits, depending on performance and campground demand.
