Front Desk Representative - AmishView Inn & Suites (Administrative)



Position Summary

The Front Desk Representative supports the front desk operations to ensure that the highest quality standards in guest relations are met for the hotel. This position provides first and lasting guest impressions through clear communication with guests and coordination with all departmental operations of the hotel in accordance with policies to provide superior service. Schedule flexibility is required for this position, including night audit coverage as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Greet and interact with guests while presenting a welcoming smile and friendly disposition.
  2. Perform all guest check-in and check-out procedures, make reservation cancellations via phone, email, or in person.
  3. Become proficient in using the hotel property management system and third-party booking sites.
  4. Accurately describe guest rooms and provide important hotel information to guests.
  5. Actively anticipate and address guests' needs. Alert appropriate departments about any special requests.
  6. Resolve problems and complaints in a timely and efficient manner, escalating to management when appropriate.
  7. Communicate guest comments to drive improvements and increase guest satisfaction to the front desk management team.
  8. Provide information to guests on local restaurants and attractions.
  9. Deliver towels, blankets, pillows, etc., to guest rooms and occasionally make up sofa beds.
  10. Develop and maintain positive relationships with all hotel staff, department heads, co-workers, and outside vendors.

  • Display a positive, professional appearance and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and night audit shifts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with guests, management, and staff, including over the phone.
  • Strong communication skills to relay critical requests and information across departments daily.
  • Ability to capture details and stay organized in busy environments.
  • Problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize, and quick thinking.

  • Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality.
