Axis Community Health is seeking a friendly Front Desk Receptionist to welcome patients, check in visitors, and direct them to the right services. You will verify financial eligibility, register patients, and support the clinical team while maintaining HIPAA compliance and data accuracy.
This temporary, six‑month assignment requires strong customer service, bilingual communication, and solid computer skills with Microsoft Office and clinic systems.

As a Front Desk Receptionist for Axis Community Health, the main responsibilities include greeting patients and visitors, directing them to the appropriate location and services, and providing courteous and helpful assistance. It is very important to maintain client privacy and confidentiality, register patients following agency protocols, and determine their financial eligibility for services. Completing forms accurately and documenting information according to Axis Community Health protocols is also required. Additionally, providing clinical support services for the assigned department and assisting the clinical team as requested falls within the scope of this role. Participation in staff meetings, training events, and other assigned duties and projects may be required.
This is a temporary position with an expected duration of six (6) months. Employment is expected to conclude at the end of the assignment unless extended based on organizational needs or by mutual agreement. However, this position is at‑will, and the duration of employment may be modified or ended at any time, with or without notice, in accordance with applicable law.
Work is normally performed in a typical clinic office work environment (and, in some cases, telecommuting sites). The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Occasionally required to carry/lift/push/pull/move up to 20lbs. Frequently required to perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks such as typing, writing, reaching over the shoulder, reaching over the head, reaching outward, sitting, walking on various surfaces, standing, and bending. Occasional travel to other Axis health centers and other occasional travel will be required.
Frequently required to use repetitive motion of hands and feet to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, copier, and other office equipment for extended periods.
Frequently required to read documents, written reports, and signage. Must be able to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise, as in answering the phone, interacting with staff etc. Must be able to speak clearly, understand normal communication, and be understood. Must be able to see clearly and have the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships to see objects where and as they actually are.
Must be able to analyze the information being received, count accurately, concentrate and focus on the given task, summarize the information being received, accurately interpret written data, synthesize information from multiple sources, write summaries as needed, interpret written or verbal instructions, and recognize social or professional behavioral cues.
Frequent exposure to varied office (medical clinic/office) environments. Rare exposure to dust and loud noises.
