Job description

Indian Creek School is an independent coeducational day school offering a broad curriculum in the liberal arts. Founded in 1973, Indian Creek School enrolls approximately 550 students in grades Pre-K through twelve from diverse ethnic, racial, religious, and economic backgrounds. This is a 10 month, part time position, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., reporting to the Chief of Staff.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining a welcoming and friendly presence with students, parents, and colleagues and consistently exhibiting high standards of professional conduct. In addition, the receptionist is expected to understand, accept, and abide by the School's philosophy and mission statement in all his/her school activities and work with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with others.

  • Greet all incoming students, families, and guests respectfully and professionally
  • Answer phone calls in a pleasant manner for the purpose of providing information and creating a good image of the school
  • Manage telephone message system (office hours, and other recorded messages)
  • Assist in all aspects of maintaining a professional front office, including but not limited to, fielding and directing incoming phone calls to the appropriate staff member in a timely, professional manner, as well as filing, copying, and faxing sensitive information
  • Sort and stamp out-going correspondence, address envelopes and packages and prepare printed matter and other material for mailing
  • Receive and refer visitors, take telephone calls and messages, and provide routine information upon request


Benefits

The hourly rate for this position is between $25 to $30 depending on skills and experience.
