Location: Primrose School of Sioux Falls at Heather Ridge Position Type: Full-time (Monday–Friday, daytime hours) Compensation: $15–$18/hour, based on experience

Job Summary

The Front Desk Receptionist & Administrative Assistant plays a key role in creating a warm, professional, and joyful experience for families, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities

Greet families, children, and visitors with a warm and professional demeanor

Answer phones, direct calls, and manage front office communications

Maintain security protocols by managing visitor logs and entry access

Respond to parent inquiries and assist with daily questions or needs

Assist with onboarding new families, including enrollment paperwork and recordkeeping

Support new staff onboarding by preparing HR forms, documentation, and checklists

Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for student and employee records

Track compliance items (e.g., immunization forms, background checks, staff training status)

Serve as administrative assistant to the onsite owner, supporting scheduling, communication, and follow-ups

Help coordinate school events, open houses, and staff meetings

Run occasional errands or complete special projects as needed

Ideal Candidate

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills

Able to handle confidential information with professionalism

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Tech-savvy and comfortable learning school systems and tools (training provided)

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Administrative or front desk experience preferred (childcare, healthcare, or education setting is a plus)

CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

Must pass background screening per South Dakota childcare licensing requirements and be able to get fingerprinted and complete all new staff childcare licensing onboarding requirements
