Job summary

Boomerang Healthcare is seeking a Front Desk Medical Assistant to join our on-site team in Walnut Creek, CA. You will support physicians by preparing patients, documenting information in the EMR, and coordinating front-office and basic clinical tasks.

The role requires a Medical Assistant credential or equivalent, BCLS with AED, and at least one year in a clinical setting. Fluency in Spanish/English is strongly preferred, with a focus on patient confidentiality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant course from an accredited/recognized school.
• Current BCLS with AED certificates.
• Experience in a medical clinic, hospital or SNF setting: 1 year.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical documentation.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Must be comfortable using Electronic Medical Record software (training provided).
• Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required to communicate effectively and professionally with patients, medical professionals, and co-workers.
• Knowledge of all state and federal regulations pertaining to confidentiality pursuant to HIPAA, treatment, and safety guidelines.
• Ability to anticipate patient needs and take proactive measures to meet those needs and resolve issues.
• Team-oriented and flexible, willing to assist others.
• Bi-lingual - Spanish/English strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Periodically checks on patient welfare until Physician begins examination or procedure.
• Assists Physician in completing patient request forms.
• Performs daily exam room and stock room inspection, ensures supplies are adequate for patient care.
• Performs additional responsibilities as appropriate to the role and scope of practice.
• May be asked to travel to our other office locations to assist Physician as needed.
• Assumes other responsibilities as appropriate to the position and organizational needs

The Medical Assistant works directly with a Physician to assist in the examination and interviewing of patients and perform basic office duties. This is an on-site position. Medical Assistants receive clinical supervision and direction solely from licensed providers. The Clinic Operation Manager provides administrative and operational oversight only.

Compensation Range:
