Position Type: Full-Time
Setting: Community Health / Intimate Health Clinic

Join a Team Powered by GRACE. Driven by Community.

The Joseph H. Neal Health Collaborative (JHN) is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and highly organized Medical Front Desk / Medical Assistant to serve as one of the first points of contact for our patients.

This is more than a traditional front desk position. We are looking for someone who understands the clinical environment, can confidently support patient flow, and has experience with medical billing and coding. The ideal candidate is a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and bilingual in English and Spanish.

Key Responsibilities

The Medical Front Desk / Medical Assistant will:

  • Welcome patients and create a professional, confidential, and judgment-free experience.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient check-in and check-out.
  • Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility.
  • Enter and maintain accurate information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Assist with insurance authorizations, referrals, and patient documentation.
  • Support medical billing, coding, claim preparation, and follow-up.
  • Review documentation for completeness and appropriate billing information.

  • Coordinate communication between patients, clinical staff, pharmacies, laboratories, and community partners.
  • Assist clinical staff with basic Medical Assistant duties within the employee's training and scope of practice.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
  • Help ensure an efficient patient flow from registration through completion of the visit.
  • Support JHN's community-centered approach to intimate health, preventive care, and access to healthcare.
Who We're Looking For

JHN needs someone who can move comfortably between patient service, clinical support, and revenue-cycle responsibilities. You should be organized, dependable, welcoming, detail-oriented, and able to handle a busy healthcare environment while treating every patient with dignity.

Our front desk is not simply a reception area—it is the front door to care. The person in this position plays an important role in making sure patients feel welcomed, get connected to the services they need, and have a positive experience with JHN.
