Location: New Orleans East, Louisiana

We are seeking a dedicated and professional individual to join our team as a Front Desk Coordinator located at our New Orleans East clinic. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive and efficient experience for our patients and visitors. Essential Job Responsibilities:

  1. Patient and Visitor Interaction:
    • Warmly greets patients and visitors, offering assistance as needed.
    • Utilizes phone and paging systems to facilitate communication among staff and ensure timely patient interactions.
    • Screens solicitors with courtesy, ensuring relevance to organizational needs.
  2. Financial Transactions:
    • Explains financial obligations to patients or responsible parties, collecting co-pays and balances as required.
  3. Scheduling and Documentation:
    • Prepares physicians' schedules and charts days in advance.
    • Communicates daily scheduling changes to clinical staff.
    • Registers and updates patients' personal information.
  4. Appointment Management:
    • Enhances patient satisfaction, optimizes provider time, and ensures efficient treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or over the phone.
    • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying providers of arrivals, reviewing service delivery compared to the schedule, and reminding providers of any service delays.
  5. Record Management:
    • Ensures the availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  6. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
    • Adheres to policies and procedures, reporting any necessary changes.
    • Contributes to the team effort by achieving related results and demonstrating flexibility.
    • Practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance with Clinic policies and HIPAA requirements.
  7. Customer Service:
    • Utilizes customer service principles and techniques to interact with patients calmly and pleasantly.
  8. Cross-Training:
    • Opportunity to be cross-trained with the duties within the clinic.
  9. Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
    • Two or more years of experience in customer service or reception, preferably in a health care environment.

General Summary: A non-exempt, clerical position responsible for receiving incoming telephone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner and greeting/assisting patients and visitors in the same manner.
