Job summary

Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth, MI is seeking a Front Desk Clerk to warmly welcome guests, handle check-ins and check-outs, and process reservations with accuracy and courtesy.

This role requires 16-36 hours weekly, spread across early to late shifts, including evenings and weekends. You will upsell, solve guest issues, and support team training while delivering Michigan’s highest level of service.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old and have a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Background in dealing with the public, diplomacy and tactfulness.
• Pleasing personality and appearance; reliable and punctual.

Job description

HOURS:

1. Any combination of hours between 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM. 2-5 Days per week. 16-36 hours per week. Hours may vary in busy or slow seasons.
2. Other shifts may be used from time to time due to large number of check-ins or check-outs.
3. Clerks will work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

JOB FUNCTION:

The primary responsibility of the Front Desk Clerk is checking guests in or out and collecting payments. Projects the high standards of the Bavarian Inn Lodge by performing all functions relating to registration and checking out of all hotel guests as well as creating, changing, and canceling reservations in an accurate, courteous, and efficient manner. In charge of the activities relating to the early Front Desk Clerk shift. Takes a roll in training all new Front Desk personnel. Must possess ability to find solutions to problems that occur during Front Desk & Reservation operations. Have the ability or effectiveness in selling and presenting persuasively. Upselling must be maintained and offered. Will strive to offer the highest level of guest service offered in Michigan. Performs other duties as directed by the Front Desk Manager and the Front Desk Supervisors.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
