Job Summary
The Front Desk Clerk is responsible for maintaining the safety, security, and overall integrity of the building and its residents by adhering to established policies and procedures. This role serves as a key point of contact for residents, visitors, and staff and must follow the direction of Team Leaders and/or Supervisors.
Primary Responsibilities
Monitor all traffic in and out of the building; ensure all guests check in/out with valid identification and comply with guest policies.
Accept and accurately record rental payments.
Remain alert at all times; document all incidents and unusual occurrences during the shift.
Follow all protocols as outlined in the Front Desk Manual.
Sort and distribute resident mail promptly and accurately.
Conduct routine inspections of the building’s common areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.
Immediately report hazardous conditions or emergency situations to management and log the details.
Maintain a clean and professional lobby appearance. Business casual attire is required.
Report to assigned shifts on time. This position may require travel and shift coverage across multiple locations. Reliable transportation is required.
Maintain professional and courteous communication with residents, staff, and guests.
Maintain professional boundaries with residents and staff at all times—no personal, emotional, financial, or physical relationships. Violations are grounds for immediate termination.

Qualifications & Skills
Strong commitment to the mission and values of National Church Residences and its Supportive Housing Division
Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and follow written and verbal instructions
Effective oral and written communication skills
Basic math and analytical skills
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Clear professional boundaries and conduct
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
Awareness and sensitivity to the needs of low-income and homeless populations
Knowledge of crisis prevention and intervention techniques
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of one (1) year of recent, relevant work experience required
Monitor lobby activity and ensure proper check-in/out for all guests.
Verify guest identification and compliance with building rules (track via guest log and overnight sheet).
Stay alert and record hourly notes in the shift log.
Report to work on time (no more than a 5-minute grace period).
