Job summary

Academy of Art University is seeking a Campus Host to greet visitors and support a blended population of students, faculty and staff at our San Francisco campus. This overnight weekend shift offers an entry point to learn about the school and develop customer service skills.

Responsibilities include verifying IDs, guiding visitors, reporting concerns to Campus Safety, and assisting with events. The role requires a year of experience and strong communication, with a friendly, professional

Qualifications

• One year of professional customer service experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Have a friendly and professional demeanor.

• Anticipate needs of others and take measures to provide effective support.
• Time management skills are necessary.
• Be able to demonstrate a sense of urgency with important matters.
• Possess basic computer knowledge in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

• Ensure anyone entering an Academy building has valid identification and / or assist with issuing visitor passes as needed.
• Provide directions regarding room locations.
• Conduct intake of concerns reported and troubleshoot or elevate to Campus Safety management as needed.
• Complete a walk-through of buildings as assigned each shift and open / close doors and turn on / off lights as instructed.
• Serve as a Title IX mandatory reporter, which requires reporting information to the Title IX Officer as soon as they become aware of alleged discrimination or harassment on the basis of sex or gender.
• Support with special events as needed.

Campus Host Position

Campus Hosts are the first point of contact for anyone visiting an Academy location. They are responsible for welcoming visitors and providing continuous support to our blended population of students, faculty and staff. This is a great way to get your foot in the door at the University and will enable you to learn about the school and develop skills for other potential opportunities. This is an overnight weekend shift.

This is a fixed term, part-time opportunity for Spring semester.
