Job description

This position is for early morning and afternoon shifts.

JOB SUMMARY

In this fun, fast-paced PART TIME role, you will perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties for the Fieldhouse Fitness Center. The position includes a high level of face-to-face contact with patrons and the public - and requires a very high level of customer service skills No two days will be the same as you work in an environment that values teamwork and positive partnerships.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet patrons in person, answering phones, questions, taking registrations and payments for programs, memberships, and facility reservations.

Assists patrons with inquiries regarding parks facilities and recreation programs.

Be knowledgeable of all Department programs and services to answer questions or channel calls to the proper staff. Solid understanding of all Department programs and services and the ability to promote them.

Assist office supervisors with administrative tasks including, but not limited to data entry, reporting, mailings, filing, etc.

Attend appropriate staff training.

Use of basic computer functions and ability to learn software utilized by the Department.

Maintains class and league rosters as needed.

Maintain the front desk area in a clean and organized manner.

Communicate effectively with patrons, supervisors, and co-workers.

Follows protocols for opening and closing of the facility.

Assist with other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. First Aid/CPR desired or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

At least 1-year past experience in general office work, secretarial, or customer service preferred. Knowledge of general office procedures.

Ability to adjust to quickly changing priorities and assignments.

Understanding of basic accounting practices and procedures. Ability to balance and reconcile daily cash receipts.

SKILLS, COMPETENCIES & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Clear the communication skills required. Detail-oriented and works well under pressure. Must possess excellent customer service skills including face-to-face contact and telephone skills.

Competencies: Ability to make sound decisions and use good judgment. Communicate effectively with patrons. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to effectively manage customers that need problem resolution.

Physical Requirements- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods; must be able to walk frequently; must be able to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, and use general office equipment. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
