All of these are great characteristics for a Front Desk Associate/Guest Service Agent. Responsibilities include greeting guests, assisting with check-in and check-out, collecting payments, tracking purchases and room charges, answering inquiries via telephone and email, learning to operate reservation system software, balancing cash drawers, editing menus, and preparing daily arrival and departure information for departments. The Front Desk staff are like conductors leading the orchestra of resort departments to ensure guests have an exceptional experience!

Location and Details:
  • Location: Migis Lodge on Sebago Lake, Casco, ME
  • Hours: Full-time; shifts from 7am - 3pm or 3pm - 11pm
  • Compensation: $17 to $19/hour
  • Position: Seasonal (May/June through late October or August for students)
  • Start date: Early May through Mid-June

Job Summary:

Front Desk/Guest Service Associates are the first impression of our resort, demonstrating exceptional hospitality to ensure memorable guest experiences. This role involves greeting guests, managing check-in/out, handling guest inquiries and complaints, maintaining guest accounts, and ensuring safety and security procedures are followed.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance
  • Greet guests warmly and acknowledge them with eye contact and a smile
  • Register and orient guests according to standards
  • Be knowledgeable about the property and its offerings
  • Answer phones courteously and accurately
  • Serve as a concierge, providing area information and assistance
  • Build rapport with guests and respond to their needs proactively
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve issues
  • Work with colleagues to meet guest needs and communicate effectively
  • Manage guest accounts, payments, and cash drawers accurately
  • Process check-outs efficiently and explain charges
  • Deliver messages, packages, and handle lost and found items
  • Follow safety and security procedures
  • Perform light housekeeping in the lobby area
  • Handle physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds and being mobile during shifts
  • Protect property assets and maintain confidentiality
Minimum Requirements:
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • At least 17 years old
  • Proficient in English (oral and written)
  • Team player with good observation skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
