Canine To Five is seeking energetic dog lovers to work at our busy dog daycare and boarding facility in Eastside Detroit, MI. We are looking for the right person to support both our furry and human clients.

We offer full-time positions (30+ hrs/week), including two weekends a month.

No experience is necessary—just a positive attitude, strong work ethic, quick learner, and love for dogs!

Position Summary:

This position combines multiple roles:

The Front Desk Associate (Client Experience Rep) is the friendly first face clients see, essential for client retention. Responsibilities include greeting clients, up-selling services, handling payments, clerical work, safely escorting dogs, and other projects as assigned.

The Pack Leader ensures safe group play for all dogs. This role requires sound decision-making, enthusiasm, confidence, and the ability to work independently with various breeds and sizes in a loud, fast-paced environment. It’s ideal for someone with a good memory and interest in dog behavior and safety.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
  • Detailed cleaning skills (vacuuming, mopping, wiping, scrubbing)
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for long periods, walk, run, bend, reach
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong decision-making, self-awareness, and time management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Genuine love for working with and caring for dogs
  • Comfort around all breeds and sizes of dogs
  • Ability to handle unpleasant odors, animal waste, bites, scratches, and contagious diseases
  • Ability to manage high-stress situations in a high-energy environment
  • Personal accountability (attendance, dress code, cell phone policy)
  • Positive attitude and engagement in daily operations
