Job Description

The Hilton Garden Inn Minneapolis University Area Hotel is seeking a Part Time Front Desk Agent. The role involves providing a positive guest experience and managing customer-facing administrative tasks.

Essential Functions
  1. Providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests, maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
  2. Operating the telephone switchboard properly.
  3. Answering guest inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and hours.
  4. Maintaining good communication and teamwork with colleagues and other departments.
  5. Responding promptly and professionally to guest requests.
  6. Maintaining confidentiality and security of guest and hotel information.
  7. Documenting guest requests, complaints, or problems and notifying relevant departments for resolution, following up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  8. Being aware of rates, packages, and promotions.
  9. Familiarity with all in-house groups and high-demand dates.
  10. Taking reservation information and following rate quoting procedures.
  11. Knowledge of the front desk computer system.
  12. Handling packages, mail, and messages.
  13. Sharing knowledge of property amenities, events, and local attractions.
  14. Completing check-in and check-out processes accurately.
  15. Using creative reasoning and brand standards to address guest concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  16. Restocking front desk supplies as needed.
  17. Following checklists and performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  2. Ability to multitask and be detail-oriented.
  3. Problem-solving skills for internal and external customers.
  4. Basic English verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to work under stress and high-pressure situations.
  6. Basic math skills.
  7. Ability to obtain alcohol awareness certification as required.
  8. Willingness to work varied schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  9. Proficiency in Windows OS, approved spreadsheets, and word processing.
  10. Clear communication skills.
  11. Desire to serve all guests.
  12. Legal age to serve alcohol (at certain properties).
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Experience in hospitality or related fields.
  2. Brand knowledge and experience.
