Summary
Create Unforgettable First Impressions at One of Kansas City's Premier Hotels

Every memorable stay begins with a warm welcome.

At Hotel Kansas City, every interaction is an opportunity to create something exceptional. Housed in the historic Kansas City Club Building, our award-winning hotel blends timeless architecture, modern luxury, and genuine Midwestern hospitality to deliver an experience unlike any other. Recognized as one of the "Best New Hotels in the World" by Travel + Leisure, Hotel Kansas City is home to beautifully designed guest rooms, acclaimed dining, vibrant nightlife, and unforgettable events—all in the heart of downtown Kansas City.

We're looking for engaging, service-driven Front Desk Agents who understand that hospitality starts long before a guest reaches their room. As one of the first and last people our guests interact with, you'll help shape every stay by creating welcoming arrivals, seamless departures, and meaningful connections throughout the guest journey.

If you enjoy connecting with people, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in delivering thoughtful service, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

As a Front Desk Agent, you'll create welcoming, personalized experiences while serving as a knowledgeable resource for guests throughout their stay. You'll balance exceptional hospitality with operational excellence, ensuring every interaction is warm, efficient, and memorable.

You’ll:

  • Welcome guests with genuine warmth and professionalism from arrival through departure.
  • Complete check-in, check-out, room assignments, key issuance, and guest registration accurately and efficiently.
  • Anticipate guest needs and provide thoughtful recommendations about hotel amenities, dining, local attractions, transportation, and experiences.
  • Answer questions, process reservations and booking requests, and communicate hotel services with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Listen carefully to guest concerns, resolve issues with empathy and sound judgment, and partner with leadership when additional support is needed.
  • Accurately process payments, explain guest folios, post charges, and handle Front Office transactions with attention to detail.
  • Maintain clear communication with Housekeeping and other hotel departments to ensure rooms, guest requests, and operational priorities are coordinated seamlessly.
  • Keep accurate records, shift notes, and guest information while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Support fellow Front Office colleagues during busy arrival and departure periods and assist with additional guest service needs when business demands require.
  • Follow all company policies related to guest privacy, safety, security, cash handling, and hotel operating procedures.
Who You Are

You believe every interaction matters. You're naturally welcoming, calm under pressure, and genuinely enjoy helping people. You know that great hospitality comes from anticipating needs, communicating clearly, and creating moments that guests remember long after they've checked out.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Warm, approachable, and passionate about creating exceptional guest experiences.
  • Confident and composed in a fast-paced, high-volume hospitality environment.
  • An excellent communicator who listens carefully and responds with empathy and professionalism.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
  • Dependable, accountable, and committed to following through on guest requests.
  • Comfortable learning hotel systems and adapting quickly to changing business needs.
  • A collaborative team player who supports colleagues across departments to deliver seamless service.
  • Someone who takes pride in professionalism, positive communication, and representing Hotel Kansas City with excellence.
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous hotel, hospitality, front desk, guest service, or customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using computer systems, hotel software, and standard business applications.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to provide clear, accurate information to guests and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays as business needs require.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the Front Office while maintaining a positive, guest-focused presence.
  • The ability to lift, push, or pull up to 15lbs as needed.
