If so, The Pfister is looking for a Front Desk Agent to be a part of our team and continue its iconic legacy.

As a Front Desk Agent, you will greet our guests and welcome them to return for future stays, while providing prompt and courteous service. The way our guests are treated largely impacts their experience here; so, if you are a person with a smile on your face, this position is great for you!

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. What you will be doing:

• Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the hotel.
• Check guests in and out of rooms.
• Input and retrieve information from the computer system to communicate guest requests.
• Select rooms based on guests' needs.
• Deal effectively with internal and external customers, requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
• Respond to guest requests and questions regarding area or hotel services, and handle guest issues and complaints.
• Answer the phone professionally and clearly.
• Maintain cash handling accuracy, including responsibility for House Bank.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

• Previous hotel, receptionist, front desk, or related administrative experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with OPERA or other hospitality property management software is strongly preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills and communication are required.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift and move throughout the front office.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to input information accurately using a computer system.
• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergencies.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
