The Full-Time Front Desk Agent at the Fairfield Inn in Evansville, IN, is responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

Qualification Standards:
Education & Experience: College coursework in a related field is helpful. Experience in a hotel or related field is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required. Computer experience is required. Customer service experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements: Flexible and long hours may be required. Light work involving exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
Work Environment: Indoor and outdoor hotel facilities and structures.

Duties & Functions

Fundamental Requirements:

  • Greet and welcome guests and staff professionally.
  • Maintain proper operation of the PBX system and meet hotel standards.
  • Respond to guest inquiries about services, facilities, and hours.
  • Manage packages, mail, and messages for guests and meeting rooms.
  • Review daily logs and trace files.
  • Answer questions about local restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
  • Follow cash handling and credit policies.
  • Be knowledgeable about rates, packages, promotions, and in-house groups.
  • Be aware of closed and restricted dates.
  • Obtain necessary information for reservations and rate quoting.
  • Understand emergency procedures and assist as needed.
  • Handle check-ins and checkouts courteously and efficiently.
  • Use proper radio etiquette when communicating with staff.
  • Operate all relevant front desk systems and complete shift checklists.
  • Balance and prepare paperwork for shift closing.
  • Maintain promotional materials and a clean work area.
