Overview

The Front Office Agent is responsible for providing attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

Responsibilities

  • Answer inquiries from guests regarding restaurants, transportation, entertainment, etc.
  • Follow all cash handling and credit policies.
  • Be aware of all rates, packages, and special promotions as listed in the Red Book.
  • Be familiar with all in-house groups and restricted dates.
  • Obtain necessary information when taking room reservations and follow rate-quoting scenarios.
  • Be familiar with hospitality terminology and emergency procedures.
  • Handle check-ins and checkouts courteously and efficiently.
  • Use proper communication etiquette with staff.
  • Operate all relevant Front Desk computer systems.
  • Perform shift duties timely and accurately, including reports and paperwork.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assist guests with safe deposit boxes and promote guest programs.

Qualifications

  • College coursework in related field helpful; High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Computer skills required; customer service experience preferred.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain professional appearance and adhere to hotel standards.
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
