Job summary

XL Parts / The Parts House in Richmond, TX is looking for a Counter Representative to assist customers with purchases in person and by phone. You will help walk-in customers locate and buy parts, operate a cash register, and ensure accurate records.

This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong commitment to superb customer service. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years of retail experience, and be able to pass a background check and

• Assist walk-in customers with finding and purchasing parts.

• Keep store and front counter clean and organized.
• Weigh/count items for warehouse distribution as needed.
• Enter records into computer systems.
• Prepare parcels for mailing/shipping via common carrier.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job description

The Counter Representative is responsible for assisting customers with their purchases both in-person and by phone.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Assist Walk-in customer with finding and purchasing parts
• Operates a cash register and handles cash
• Answers phones
• Keeps store and front counter clean
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within the warehouse to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Uses computer to enter records.
• Prepares parcels for mailing and shipment via common carrier.
• Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements:

• High School Degree or GED
• 1 to 2 years ofworking in a retail environment
• Highly motivated to provide superb customer service
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen

Environmental/Occupational Health and Physical Requirements :

Typical 9-hour days include reaching, standing, walking, kneeling, lifting and carrying. To perform the duties of this job the employee must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. The heavy lifting of 50lbs or more may be required.
