Job summary

Carlisle Brake & Friction's Bloomington, IN plant is seeking production operators to safely operate presses, sanders and hand tools, measure friction compounds, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

You will support COS and CMOS initiatives, read blueprints/work instructions, and contribute to continuous improvement and lean projects with a team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3–6 months related manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
• Good verbal and written communication; teamwork oriented.

Requirements

• Positions parts a


• Operate presses, sanders, and common hand tools.


• Position parts according to work instructions or following blueprints.


• Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners as applicable.


• Remove small quantities of material with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.


• Participate in and support Carlisle Operating System (COS) initiatives.


• Participate in CMOS events to improve productivity and reduce waste.


• Work with management team t identify continuous improvement projects utilizing lean and six sigma principles to drive operational excellence and improve profitability.


• Work with management team to promote waste identification and elimination by utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles of Kaizen.


• Other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager.

High school diploma/general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Three to six months of employment experience in a manufacturing environment.


• Mechanical or machinery related experience and/or training preferred.


• 100% safety focused.

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
