Job summary

CentroMotion in Bloomington, IN is seeking a manufacturing associate to operate presses, sanders and hand tools, following work instructions to ensure quality and safety.

You will participate in continuous improvement initiatives, support lean and six sigma efforts, and collaborate with the production team to meet production goals while maintaining a clean, safe workplace.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate presses, sanders and hand tools safely and efficiently.
• Measure/weight friction compounds per instructions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Position parts according to work instructions or blueprints.
• Fasten parts with bolts, screws, rivets, or fasteners.
• Participate in and support COS initiatives.
• Participate in CMOS events to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Identify lean improvement opportunities and Kaizen ideas to drive operational excellence.
• Other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager.

Requirements

• Operate presses, sanders, and common hand tools.


• Position parts according to work instructions or following blueprints.


• Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners as applicable.


• Remove small quantities of material with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts.


• Participate in and support Carlisle Operating System (COS) initiatives.


• Participate in CMOS events to improve productivity and reduce waste.


• Work with management team t identify continuous improvement projects utilizing lean and six sigma principles to drive operational excellence and improve profitability.


• Work with management team to promote waste identification and elimination by utilizing Lean Manufacturing concepts and principles of Kaizen.


• Other duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager.

High school diploma/general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Three to six months of employment experience in a manufacturing environment.


• Mechanical or machinery related experience and/or training preferred.


• 100% safety focused.


• Ability to read detailed work instructions.


• Good verbal and written communication skills.
