Qualifications

• Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, staff, and community.
• Knowledge of fundamental principles of the sport.
• Ability to adhere to administrative policies and directives of the program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with organizational meetings for team prospects and encourage potential athletes to participate in the sport.
• Assist with assessment of players' skills and assigning team positions.
• Help develop a regular practice schedule and organize practice time for individual and team development.
• Coach and instruct players regarding rules, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
• Observe players during competition and practice and report needs for improvement to Head Coach.
• Assist with determining game strategy based on team capabilities.
• Maintain standards of student athlete behavior and supervise athletes.
• Monitor academic performance to ensure eligibility and encourage academic standards.
• Follow procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
• Confer with parents/guardians regarding athletic performance as necessary.
• Follow regulations governing the athletic program.
• Model sportsmanlike behavior and appropriate conduct toward players, officials, and spectators.
• Care for, maintain, requisition equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
• Participate in special activities such as parent nights and award nights.
