Job Description

Primary Function:

The Freshman Basketball Coach is responsible for leading, mentoring, and developing student-athletes on the Freshman basketball team. This role includes planning and implementing training programs, organizing competitive play, and fostering a positive and competitive team environment. The coach will work closely with players, assistant coaches, and school administration to ensure the team’s success both on and off the court.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching experience, particularly at the high school or collegiate level.
• Strong knowledge of basketball techniques, strategies, and rules
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Certification in first aid and CPR (preferred).

Directly Responsible To:

• The Athletic Director

Assigned Responsibilities:

• Team Management:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training and practice schedule.

  • Foster positive relationships with the school community and local organizations.
• Health and Safety:
  • Ensure all players adhere to safety protocols and proper conditioning practices.
  • Address any injuries or health concerns promptly and in accordance with medical advice.
