Job summary

ShopRite of Cheltenham is seeking a Seafood Associate to deliver excellent customer experience while operating the Seafood Department. You will prepare and pack out fresh and frozen seafood according to company standards.

The role emphasizes knowledge of various seafood types, accurate pricing, proper storage, and adherence to safety and QA guidelines. Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and work flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, speaking English required.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed seafood including shellfish and spices.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Receive, code-date, prepare, store, price-mark, scale, and restock products to ensure quality and rotation.
• Differentiate between seafood varieties and related merchandise and communicate differences to customers.
• Contribute to controlling freshness and quality of product.
• Check refrigeration equipment and report failures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Handle food according to QA and safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations in the seafood department.
