Performance Foodservice in Augusta, ME seeks a Fresh Produce Inspector to ensure quality of inbound and in-house produce. This role involves visual inspections on the Cooler Dock and in-house pick slots, and collaboration with the Produce CM, Inventory Control, and OPS to resolve issues.

Responsibilities include reducing spoilage, communicating with customers and vendors, processing returns, and daily counts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 3-12 months procurement, warehouse or administrative experience.
• Willing to train on pallet jack operation and complete certification.
• Able to lift up to 60 lbs where applicable.
• Comfortable working in 36–55°F temperatures for most of the shift.
• Training Monday–Friday, then Sunday–Wednesday schedule.

Responsabilités

• Perform duties to reduce spoilage, coordinating with cooler Receiving Department.
• Interact with customers, company personnel and vendors in a friendly, timely manner.
• Determine product quality for returns; work with Returns Clerk on quality.
• Daily inspection of returns and disposition of product.
• Break/repack full cases to smaller sizes to reduce spoilage.
