Job summary

Harmons Grocery in South Jordan, UT is seeking a Meat Counter Associate to assist customers at the service counter and stock the meat cases. You will ensure product quality, maintain cleanliness, and support store operations with accuracy and friendly service.

You will educate customers about ingredients and flavors of Harmons’ fresh-cut meats, promote samples, and help keep the department well organized and inviting for shoppers during weekends, evenings and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent training.
• Current Food Handler’s Permit.
• Experience with preparing and handling meat products.
• Excellent organization and planning skills.
• Strong verbal and listening communication abilities.
• Dependable, team oriented and detail focused.

Responsibilities

• Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
• Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the meat department provides
• Maintains appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the meat service case
• Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for meat service case products, paying attention to ad items
• Ensures the meat department is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets company standards for appearance
• Cleaning and sanitizing dishes used in the meat department
• Receiving and stocking product in the meat department
• Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
• Educates customers about ingredients, taste, etc. of Harmons’ fresh-cut meat products
• Actively promotes the meat products through sampling at the meat service case and throughout the store
