Job summary

Vallarta Supermarkets in Bakersfield is seeking a friendly Grocery Day Stocker to transport, stock, and display merchandise and prepare customer orders for curbside pickup, ensuring freshness and adherence to safety standards.

You’ll rotate stock, assist customers, bag groceries, and maintain clean, organized aisles while working in a fast-paced environment and supporting team training.

Qualifications

• Friendly, courteous personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to learn grocery products and store layout.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Smile and greet customers and team members; deliver extraordinary service using Vallarta’s six steps.
• Model Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork.
• Select, scan, and pack customer orders from all temperature zones with accuracy and care.
• Contact customers regarding substitutions and ensure orders meet freshness and quality standards.
• Bag groceries according to Vallarta procedures and deliver to customer vehicles.
• Transport, stock, and rotate grocery products; pull out-of-code or distressed merchandise.
• Maintain merchandise on shelves, in designated storage areas, and store displays.
• Notify supervisors of inventory levels to minimize out-of-stocks/overstocks.
