Job summary

Meijer is hiring a Food Clerk to deliver friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient service in our Fresh departments. You will help customers, maintain appealing displays, and support multiple departments to keep the store running smoothly.

You’ll learn product details, engage with customers, and work in a fast-paced retail environment with safety and quality standards guiding daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Responsible for delivering remarkable customer service by providing customers with exceptional product knowledge, efficient service and a friendly attitude.
• Retail tasks related to product, customer service and merchandising are involved.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized.
• Experience in food retail or service is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
