Overview

As a Fresh Foods Clerk, your typical duties include:

1. Welcoming, engaging, serving, and thanking customers, creating a friendly and enthusiastic environment.
2. Taking orders, answering questions, and performing suggestive selling.
3. Preparing, stocking, displaying, and rotating products in fresh food cases.
4. Preparing production items according to recipes and food safety procedures.
5. Handling frozen products and inspecting all items for quality and freshness.
6. Maintaining proper signage with pricing, descriptions, and COOL information.
7. Cleaning and maintaining equipment and department cleanliness.
8. Receiving inventory, stocking, verifying receipts, and managing orders.
9. Following sanitary guidelines and completing related records.
10. Performing other duties as assigned, adhering to all food safety procedures.

Requirements

Must be able to:

1. Work flexible hours, primarily between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
2. Communicate effectively with customers.
3. Conduct visual inspections and follow production guides and labels.
4. Perform basic math and measure weights.
5. Handle potential hazards and operate equipment safely.
6. Complete required training and meet productivity standards.
7. Wear appropriate protective gear.
8. Use cleaning chemicals and handle food products safely.
9. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
10. Work around machinery emitting heat and refrigerants.

Additional Requirements

• Food Handlers Certification (per state laws).

Machines and Equipment Operated

• Cash register, scales, knives, slicers, fryers, ovens, oil filter, dishwasher, trash compactor, bailer, hand pallet jack, conveyor ovens.

Pay Range

USD $16.75 - USD $23.47 per hour.
