Job summary

Meijer is a family company dedicated to serving people and communities. As a Food Clerk, you will help create a welcoming store environment in Fresh departments, sharing product knowledge and assisting customers with their needs.

You will stock and display products, maintain hygiene standards, and collaborate across departments to keep operations running smoothly. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or grocery is helpful but not required.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks.
• Willingness to learn and use job-specific technology.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise products according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
