Wegmans is seeking individuals to join the Produce team who are passionate about fresh fruits and vegetables and delivering outstanding customer service. You will help customers find what they need, keep shelves stocked with fresh items, and ensure displays are neat and inviting throughout the day.

The role involves trimming, packaging, rotating stock, and possibly unloading deliveries to maintain high-quality produce and smooth store operations.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering friendly customer service in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to locate products and help customers find items quickly.
• Comfort with standing for long periods and light lifting.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.

What will I do?

• Provide incredible service to our customers, helping them locate what they need
• Keep our shelves and displaysstocked with fresh fruits and vegetables
• Trim, package, and rotate product as necessary to maintain appearance and quality
• May unload daily deliveries and stock cases, displays and backroom coolers with new and existing products/inventory

Experience working on a farm; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures and wet conditions. Basic tools and equipment used include box cutter, u-cart, hand/power jack, compactor, baler, knives, packaging supplies, and food processing equipment.; Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting
